Are you ready for those world-famous Tony Packo hot dogs, socializing in a grand setting and hearing the latest from the new head football coach? Now you also have the opportunity to hear presentations from two experts in their fields. Join your UT Alumni Association on Monday, March 8 at the Club at Grandezza!
As is our tradition, the Southwest Florida chapter will host the biggest Tony Packo party in the state from 6-8 p.m.! Hot dogs never looked so elegant! Hear the latest from head football coach, Tim Beckman. Coach Beckman will share his tales of recruiting, planning for the 2010 football season and recap the 2009 campaign.  The cost for the Tony Packo’s party is only $10!!!!!

Join us before the Packo party for a free seminar featuring informative lectures and lively discussions from 4-5:30 p.m. We will have two fantastic presentations. 
Craig F. Thomas, Vice President and Senior Economist with the PNC Financial Services Group, will offer economic insights and forecasts in “Florida's Role in the Economic Recovery”. Florida's businesses and households were among the hardest hit during our recent recession. In particular, the severe loss of wealth and activity in the housing market, combined with lower spending on travel and hospitality took a toll. Now, with a global economic recovery gaining momentum, Florida will move from severe recession to a leadership position in the broadening economic revival.
Our second speaker is Lawrence Elmer, M.D., Ph.D., Professor of Neurology, UT College of Medicine and Director of the Center for Neurological Wellness, who will present "Successful Brain Aging: Beating Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s Diseases". Dr. Elmer will discuss normal changes of the brain associated with aging, as well as identify the signs and symptoms of diseases like Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s.  Advancements in the management of these diseases positively impact patients and their families.
The presentations and light appetizers are free but seating is limited to 60 guests. The Tony Packo Party is still only $10 per person and is limited the first 200 reservations!
