Joint UT/BG Retiree Association Full-Service Luncheon at Stone Ridge

Event Description - Joint UT/BG Retiree Association Full-Service Luncheon at Stone Ridge

Bowling Green State University Distinguished Research Professor of Economics and Master Teacher, will speak at the BGSU Retirees Association joint luncheon with retirees from the University of Toledo on Wednesday, April 11, at Stone Ridge Golf Club, Bowling Green.

Dr. Fuerst’s research places him in the top four percent of the most-cited economic authors. He is internationally known for his expertise in monetary theory and policy and is one of a select few to serve as a Senior Economic Advisor at the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland.

A paper co-authored by Dr. Fuerst was chosen to be presented at the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System in Washington, D.C., in 2009. The conference was called to present frontier work on monetary policy in a financial crisis.

Dr. Fuerst has his undergraduate degree in economics from Ohio Northern University and his M.A. and Ph.D. in economics from the University of Chicago. Dr. Fuerst has published 63 papers and has presented many papers at professional conferences. He has served on the Board of Editors on top-level economic journals and has refereed numerous papers for journals. At BGSU’s College of Business, Dr. Fuerst has been honored as the Owens-Illinois Endowed Professor, Distinguished Research Scholar, Robert Patton Scholarly Achievement Award, Review of Economic Studies Young Scholar, and other awards. With Fuerst’s research interests and his excellence in the classroom, participants in the BGSURA luncheon should expect to hear a stimulating presentation about our current economy.
