Be a part of history

William and Carol Koester PavilionThe stone and wood pavilion is named after ardent UToledo supporters William ('59, '60) and Carol Koester, who donated funds for the facility. The Koester Alumni Pavilion was dedicated in 2012 to honor outstanding alumni, past Alumni Association presidents and generous donors.

The pavilion sits at the northwest corner of the Glass Bowl, on a large plaza named for Chuck ('59) and Jackie Sullivan. The Koester Alumni Pavilion's Rocket Station is named in honor of the UToledo Women & Philanthropy organization.

Hundreds of alumni and friends supported the Koester Alumni Pavilion project. Their names are inscribed on the plaza's brick pavers, which are available for sale.

Rent the Koester alumni Pavilion*

*until further notice, we have suspended rentals in the Koester Alumni Pavilion due to covid-19. if you are interested in gathering in the pavilion without a reservation, please adhere to the state of ohio and university of toledo guidelines for gatherings.

The Koester Alumni Pavilion is available to rent for private events, including baby showers, wedding showers, wedding receptions and graduation and retirement parties.

UToledo Alumni Association members receive a discounted rate on rentals.

Rental Season and Hours of Operation

The pavilion and plaza are available for rent:

  • May 1 through Aug. 15
  • 8 a.m. to 11 p.m.
  • For four-hour periods, not including the two hour set-up time

Facility Rental Fee Structure

Alumni Association member or campus support group     $350
Alumni/non-profit $450
Non-alumni/individual $750
Corporations $1,500
Student groups or campus units $0
Student groups are those recognized by the University and listed here.       

These fees cover the first four hours of an event; a fee of $50 per hour will be charged for events lasting longer than four hours. Fees do not include charges for security, catering, equipment rental and possible cleanup.
