The College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences and the College of Medicine and Life Sciences Alumni Affiliates invite you to a virtual, complimentary webinar, "Chemical, Clinical and Legal Considerations with Medical Marijuana," from 7 - 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 1.
Dr. Christine Roussel, PharmD, is a board-certified oncology pharmacist and board-certified sterile compounding pharmacist. She is director of pharmacy at Doylestown Hospital in Pennsylvania, facilitator, content author and consultant for Medisca/LP3 Network and program director for U Sciences Medical Cannabis Education Program for Healthcare Providers. Roussel focuses on occupational exposure to hazardous drugs, sterile/non-sterile compounding, Medical Cannabis and clinical and legislative topics, such as opioid stewardship, drug diversion prevention, pharmaceutical waste and contamination.
During the webinar, Dr. Roussel will:
- Discuss the pathophysiology of the endocannabinoid system
- Analyze the pharmacology of phytocannabinoids and non-cannabinoid components of medical marijuana
- Examine processes for transitions of care for medical cannabis
- Evaluate clinical and legal issues that impact decisions on individual patient management
