UTRA Bus Trip: Mackinac Island

The University of Toledo Retirees Association (UTRA) invites you and a guest on a bus trip to Mackinac Island, MI from Aug. 19 - 23, 2024!

 

The trip includes luxury motorcoach transportation; four nights of lodging; four breakfast and four dinner meals; a guided tour of Mackinaw City, a guided carriage tour on the island, admission to Colonial Michilimackinac and a boat ride through the Soo Locks. Please be aware that the trip will require some walking.

 

Trip Itinerary:

 

Monday, Aug. 19

Board your spacious, video and restroom-equipped motorcoach and set off for Northern
Michigan. Enjoy the beautiful scenery along the way and have dinner before checking into your hotel for a four-night stay.

 

Tuesday, Aug. 20

After today's continental breakfast, head for Sault Sainte Marie, MI and take an exciting
cruise through the Soo Locks. Next, enjoy lunch on your own and spend some free time in
Sault Sainte Marie. Watch ships enter and depart the Locks from the observation area or
browse the unique local shops and boutiques. Then, you'll enjoy a visit to the Tower of History. Venture over to the observation platforms to enjoy the spectacular panoramic view of the entire Sault area from Sault Locks and the St. Mary's River to the Canadian wilderness. Later, enjoy dinner at a local restaurant before returning to your hotel.

 

 Wednesday, Aug. 21

After enjoying a continental breakfast, your adventure begins with a ferryboat ride to
peaceful Mackinac Island where the only mode of transportation is by horse and carriage. Take a leisurely carriage ride tour of the island and see splendid sites like Arch Rock and Lilac Lane. Enjoy some free time to explore this quaint island. Later, cross the Straits of Mackinac again and enjoy a lovely Dinner at a local restaurant.

 

Thursday, Aug. 22

After breakfast, you'll take a guided tour of Mackinac city. Next, see the old Mackinac point lighthouse, dating back to 1892. After some free time at Mackinaw Crossings, visit Colonial Michilimackinac – A 1700's era Village. Later, enjoy dinner with your friends.

 

Friday, Aug. 23

After a continental breakfast, you'll depart for Toledo. The ride home is the perfect time to chat with your friends about all the fun things you've done, the great sights you've seen and where your next group trip will take you!

 

A $75 deposit is due upon registration. *Price per person, based on double occupancy. Add $179 for single occupancy. Final Payment Due: 6/12/2024

 

Diamond Tours, Inc. reserves the right to cancel any tour in the event that, due to reasons beyond the control of Diamond Tours, Inc., the trip cannot take place. In such an event, all monies received by Diamond Tours, Inc. would be returned to you.
