Alumni and guests of the Colleges of Health and Human Services, Medicine and Life Sciences, Nursing, and Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences are invited to a special evening at the Toledo Symphony on Friday, May 30. Connect with classmates and colleagues, and enjoy a night of world-class music in the heart of Toledo.
This performance promises a reflection on identity, tradition, and the transcendent power of music to connect us to our roots and to each other. Ernest Bloch’s Schelomo is a soul-stirring journey through Jewish history and culture, encapsulated in the rich, emotive tones of the cello. These performances welcome back celebrated cellist and Toledo favorite, Julian Schwarz, for in his fifth Toledo performance. Mahler’s Symphony No. 1, named “Titan,” transports listeners through a symphonic landscape that weaves subtle threads of the composer's heritage into a tapestry of universal human emotion.
Event Details:
- 7:00 p.m. - Pre-concert Talk in the TMA Great Gallery
- 8:00 p.m. - Toledo Symphony performance
Tickets are $15 for Alumni Association members, $20 for non-members.
Special thanks to the alumni affiliates of the College of Health and Human Services, College of Medicine and Life Sciences, College of Nursing, and College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences for helping to make this event possible!
