Neff College of Business Dean's Homecoming Lunch

The John B. and Lillian E. Neff College of Business and Innovation Alumni Affiliate is kicking off Homecoming weekend with the Dean's Homecoming Lunch on Thursday, September 25th in the Belvedere Room at The Toledo Club. Check-in begins at 11:15 a.m. and the lunch and program runs from noon to 1 p.m.

 

The lunch is $10 per person. Guests must register by Sept. 19th.

 

Dean Barbara Ritter will kick off the program with updates on the Neff College of Business and Innovation. The College's 2025 Distinguished Alumni Award recipient, Edward Kinsey ’79, will also speak to the group.

 

Lunch includes the following options:

 

  • Mango salmon
  • Chicken rockefeller
  • Downtowner entree salad
  • Downtowner entree salad with chicken

Both the chicken rockefeller and mango salmon dishes are accompanied by asiago mashed potatoes, green beans, and a side salad with fresh bread. Tea and lemonade will be served with each meal. 

 

About Dr. Barbara Ritter 

Barbara Ritter is dean of the Neff College of Business and Innovation at The University of Toledo and earned her Ph.D. in Industrial Organizational Psychology from the University of Akron in 2004. She has published extensively in areas such as Implicit Leadership Theory, gender, justice, and management pedagogy, with more than 100 presentations and publications in leading journals. Before joining UToledo, she served as dean at Coastal Carolina University’s Wall College of Business and Jacksonville University. Barbara also holds leadership roles with AACSB, AOM, and other organizations, and has received multiple honors, including the MOBTS Peter Frost Mentoring Award, the David L. Bradford Outstanding Educator Award, and the 2024 Susan B. Herman Service Award.

 

About Edward Kinsey '79

Ed Kinsey is a seasoned technology entrepreneur and finance professional, beginning his career at PriceWaterhouseCoopers and KPMG before co-founding Ariba, Inc. and later advising DocuSign’s CFO ahead of its IPO. He also founded Determination Ventures, LLC, and Impel, Inc., securing four patents, and most recently served as Chief Financial Strategy Officer and Senior Advisor at the U.S. State Department, where he shaped Executive Order 13959 and led SEC regulatory initiatives. Beyond his professional work, Kinsey founded The Kinsey Family Foundation, established a scholarship for students without father figures, and has been honored as a University of Toledo Pacemaker of the Year and inducted into its College of Business Hall of Fame.
