Ever wish you could step back into a college class? Now's your chance! Join current students and alums for a night in HON 1010: Ideas and Society, the latest iteration of Honors Readings Conference, as we virtually discuss instructor Alysha Cook's short, final book of the semester: A Psalm for the Wild-Built.
Purpose. Burnout. Escaping to nature. Several hundred years ago, robots abandoned society and disappeared into the wilderness, leaving humans to create a new world for themselves. But when a tea monk decides they need a break from it all, they're shocked to discover that perhaps their robot companions didn't vanish after all. Tag along on Dex and Mosscap's unlikely journey as they explore finding one's purpose, satisfaction and what humans really need in Becky Chamber's award-winning novella, A Psalm for the Wild-Built.
This will take place on Zoom. A link will be emailed out the week of to those who register.
While this is a free event, the selected book is not included with registration. We highly encourage utilizing your local library for this event. A Psalm for the Wild-Built is also available for purchase in hardcover, e-book, and audio format.
We hope you'll join us for this cozy, thought-provoking adventure through Panga and return to your Honors roots on the evening of Thursday, November 13th. Come prepared for a great reading discussion with your new classmates!
