We invite you to join us at Re-tie the Red Ribbon on Saturday September 12th 2026, from 4 - 9 p.m. at the National Museum of the Great Lakes. The evening supports the growth of the Ann Wayson Locher Memorial Fund for HIV Care. 

Ann Wayson Locher, MSN, RN, was a nurse, pioneer, visionary, advocate and educator who opened the first grant-funded free and anonymous HIV testing site in northwest Ohio in 1985. Ann pursued her passion of caring for people with HIV. Having foreseen HIV service needs, she organized a team of experts to form the Ryan White Program at The University of Toledo Medical Center in 2000. Today, the Ryan White grant funded services are provided through the UTMC Care Clinic. This clinic offers comprehensive community-based healthcare for all people living with and affected with HIV. HIV and STI prevention services are also available.  

The University of Toledo Medical Center has been the regional referral center for HIV care for more than 30 years and has served the needs of a growing population of people living with HIV.  Support of this event makes a difference to the people in our community who depend on the Ryan White services.
