The University of Toledo Golden Alumni Society invites you to a tour of Providence Metropark at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, May 11, located at 13200 State Route 295, Grand Rapids 43522.
A box lunch from LaRoe’s Restaurant will be served from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. in the Miami Shelter. Lunch includes chicken salad on a croissant, chips, fruit and a bottle of water.
At 12:45 p.m., we will board “The Volunteer,” a reproduction of a mule-drawn canal boat. The one-hour boat ride will be narrated by a living-history interpreter. Following the canal boat ride, you are welcome to visit the new Providence Heritage Center and the Isaac Ludwig Mill, a working, water-powered saw and gristmill.
The cost is $16.50 per person.
