Homecoming

Catch candy from distinguished alumni award winners in the Homecoming parade.

Homecoming Parade

There's nothing like the Edward C. and Helen G. Schmakel Homecoming Parade — when students, alumni and community members come together to celebrate The University of Toledo.

Saturday at 10 a.m.  |  old orchard neighborhood

Floats created by student organizations, outstanding alumni and University leaders riding in classic cars are lead by the Rocket Marching Band.

The parade steps off before the annual football game and is sponsored by the Blue Key student organization with support from the UToledo Alumni Association. It travels down Bancroft Street and through the historic Old Orchard neighborhood. Old Orchard neighbors line the streets, while parade participants toss candy to kids along the route.

Want to participate in 2022? We're always looking for folks to drive their vehicles — convertibles, open Jeeps and classic cars — and give a ride to alumni award winners and other VIPs.
